"TRUE BEAUTY..Inside Out!"

Hi Everyone!
Funny how this photo was suppose to be just a candid test shot from a photoshoot, and it ended up being one of the most beautiful photos of day. It's weird how we often try so hard to achieve the perfect look to be beautiful. What we often fail to realize is, those "candid moments" or " behind the scene" photos can speak a million words. Interestingly enough... Everyday I get many emails from people reaching out seeking advise on how they can achieve beauty....

My answer is always the same, " Beauty comes from the inside, not from the outside" If you love yourself from the inside, and you let your true personality shine, your own true beauty will infect others. They will in turn find you to be the most beautiful person in the world.

Another Arnold n Classic has come and gone...

Just like anything else in life...we wait for what seems like forever, counting down the months, the weeks, the days, and finally the hours for the highly anticipated Arnold Classic to come...and within 72 hours, the thousands of fitness enthusiasts across the world are filled with inspiration and excitment from a weekend of fitness , a lifetime of memories. Each person will take away there favorite memories, whether it be meeting their favorite industry icon, or walking away with a a 1st place win, in any case , the Arnold Classic touches each one of us in a special way. Arnold himself, made a promise 40 years ago to promote the sport of bodybuilding and fitness once he retired and that he did, and his promise along with Jim Lorimer, found itself to be the biggest fitness expo world wide. As Arnold always says, " I'll be back!"..and that he always is. This time bringing a special award to Sylvester Stallone for his contributions to health and fitness.
Now, time to talk about who took away those trophies. Let's start with the Pro Ladies..
Figure
Well shortly before the ladies took the stage I spoke with dear friend and Senior Editor of Iron Man Magazine about our predictions and dead on we were for top 3. The beautiful Nicole Wilkins managed to take the title as Ms Figure International...and now holding both trophies to Ms Figure Olympia and Ms. Figure International. Well deserved. Erin Stern in 2nd, Heather Mae French in 3rd, Mindi Smith in 4th, Felicia Ronmero in 5 and Larissa Reis in 6th. Once again, I think the million fans watching were hoping that our number one fitness icon Monica Brant would have cracked the top 5, but unfortunatly it was 7th. I will always have so much admiration and respect for Monica for her dedication to the sport and commitment to her fans to represent at best. "go Mo"
Fitness
As for fitness...yes our crazy "Chica Latina" Adela Garcia won over the judges with her stellar physique and fly routine. In 2nd place was Julie Palmer and 3rd was Tanjii Johnson. Let me tell you it was a tough call between Julie and Tanji. Julie always shows up in shape, and always holds high scores in the physique rounds. She is one of the hardest working women out there, but I must tell you when it comes to Tanji...damn I was blown away by the improvements she made to her physique. This was the best package that she has ever brought to the stage,not to mention her kick azz routine dedicated to Michael Jackson. If there was a vote for the best routine of the evening I would have definitely given it to Tanji..full of strength, flexibility, dance and pizzaz....go gettem Tanji...
Bodybuilding
Not much of a surpise here as Ruth and I could predict Iris Kyle taking 1st for yet the 5ht time , followed by Yaxeni in 2nd, Debbie Lazieski in 3rd, Lisa A. in 4th , Betty Pariso in 5th and Dayana Cadeau in 6th.
Mens bodybuiliding. Okay I think my jaw is still on the floor with Dexter placing 4th..yes he is one of my favs being a friend but it was definitly a shock since he was the one most anticipated to regain the title. Taking the title was once again Kai Green who after during the interviews, stated how blessed he was to be the winner once again. I have to say he is definitly all heart. Listening to him speak you can tell he was spiritually connected to his win, after all this is someone who came from very little only just a few years ago. 2nd is Phil Heath, young and hungry for a title to take on, 3rd - Branch Warren, 4th Ronnie Rockel and 5th , the X man, Toney Freeman..

A big shout out to Karen Gallagher who graced the Arnold Amateur Bikini stage for the first time and wowed the fans with her swagger....be sure to check back for lots of pictures!

Congrats to everyone......

Close your eyes...and ask yourself.."If I could do anything, be anything or improve myself to be something more , what would it be?" I am sure you could come up with a million dreams, but the minute you open your eyes all those dreams and that feeling of inspiration suddenly disappear. The question is, Why do they disappear?...They disappear because of fear , fear that you may not succeed, fear what others may think or more so, fear they don't think you can do it.
We all fear, even I do, but what is significant , is how to tackle your fears. It's believing in YOURSELF WHEN NO ONE ELSE DOES, it's taking chances even when you are unsure as to how things may turn out, it's about following your sense of inspiration and saying I CAN DO IT even when other's doubt you! Don't ever let anyone tell you , you can't .......
If I didn't face my challenges and fears, I would never have graced various stages, I would have never been a covermodel, I would have never been a spokesmodel and most importantly , I would have never been able to share my inspiration with you all...

Hello everyone! With the onset of Christmas and New Years I wanted to wish you all a happy holiday, and even more so, a holiday that should begin with a sense of "Feeling Brand New".The holidays are always a time to reflect and grow. As you know I am driven by each new challenge and somewhat intoxicated by the fruits of my labour to do my best to succeed. People always ask me, how to embrace such motivation? ...And my answer is always the same. Motivation is something that comes from the inside, and not something that is given to you. In fact it sits on the seat of your soul. You attract into your life,whatever it is you feel inside. So if you feel that being a good wife or a great father is what inspires you to be the best you can be, then let that source of inspiration be your motivation. In any case, your inspiration is what will motivate you to have a pocket full of dreams!

A BIG THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO CAME OUT TO SEE ME AT THE CAN FIT PRO EXPO! It is always so nice to see old friends, acquaintances and everyone who shares their love for health and fitness. It's so funny because everytime I go to these expos.. I think "gosh , everyone is in such great shape"! LOL And makes me think I am the one who needs to keep busting ma booty! Why is that? But I think we all think that don't we? We are , our own worst critics ...errrrh! Nonetheless it is always an inspiration for us! Keep posted for future pics....

People always ask me , How do you get things done?, Where does your drive and motivation come from? My answer is, "How do you not get things done?" I think of it like this: Procrastination and hesitation in my eyes are the route to all evil. The minute you hesitate about your goals, your dreams , you inspirations...it only leaves an opportunity for many to hesitate, to doubt, to question their strength, and perhaps what those around them may think. Most people will think about the excuses of the family, the children, work and end up with a preconceived notion that their lifestyle doesn't allow them the time....Sound familiar? STOP Procrastinating! Change your mindset and believe you will get things done TODAY, and not "tomorrow" as "the tomorrow " never comes and only sets you up for failure.
So ...to answer your question, How do I get things done? No matter what is going on in my life, I tell myself that my goals and dreams are what will make me a better person. They are the fuel that make me smile, that make me feel good about myself, that make me want to inspire others . I don't think about what other's may think or that life's circumstances will take up too much time. I LIVE MY LIFE, AND I DON'T LET LIFE LIVE ME!
